New review: Never Take Sweets From A Stranger
It’s tempting to think that child abuse wasn’t taken seriously back in the day, and indeed I’ve alluded to it enough in reviews of nonsense (nonce-sense?) like Assault and Revenge. But then along comes this little black-and-white beauty to let us know that yes, even back as far as 1960 it wasn’t tolerated at all.
So there.
Well, I say “not tolerated” but to be fair, there’s a fair few people queueing up in this tale to stand by the side of elderly perv Clarence Olderberry Sr and deny that his obvious attraction to young girls is quite harmless. However, we know it isn’t, and so does everyone who counts.
An absolute cracker, this… well worth 80 minutes of your time.
