AKA “Night Creatures”, you Americans.

This is a good ‘un. I’d never given it much credence before, it looked more like one of Hammer’s Robin Hoods than a bone-a fide horror (ha, see what I did there?).

But it’s far more genre than I’d thought. And packed with cracking performances. Not least by Peter Cushing, who relishes his nice/nasty role as Professor Bliss / Captain Clegg.

And if they ever remake it, I’m putting Alexander Armstrong forward for the role of Captain Collier. In fact, I’m putting the Pointless host forward for roles in remakes of anything Patrick Allen was in.

Including the “protect and survive” messages.

And on that depressing note, why not read a funny review of a great old film?
