Stef and Steph… an apology
“You got my name wrong…?!”
God lord, it took long enough to spot it but guess who got his Beachams and Powerses mixed up?
Me, that’s who, in the review for Fanatic (Die Die My Darling), the wonderful Hammer psycho drama I reviewed for this very site getting on for almost exactly one year ago.
What a plank. And thank you, Nigel Brand (nearly called you Powers, then, Nige) for spotting it.
Anyway, if you’re at all interested, let me remind you that Fanatic is an absolute belter, and the lovely Stefanie POWERS is as lovely as ever in it, her 60s ‘do surviving all manner of indignities.
And let us not forget that Stephanie BEACHAM is equally lovely, especially in (hang on, which of her films did I do a half-decent review of? Oh yes…) The Ballad Of Tam Lin. Which she’s actually in, and not, as we now know, the aforementioned Fanatic.
“He mixed me up with WHO…?”
Got to hand it to me that I was pedantic enough to get the spelling of the Stefanie bit right but then completely screwed it up with the surname. And shame on YOU, dear reader, for failing to spot what I am now calling a deliberate mistake. Apart from Nigel, obvs.
So, sorry Stef, and sorry Steph. Here’s hoping that you never both appeared in an episode of Hart To Hart, or things could get messy. Phew, you didn’t.
And sorry to you, dear reader. Yes, I am human. And getting on a bit. Remember, if you spot any more “deliberate mistakes”, please let me know. Cos otherwise things round here might spiral out of control.
