NJW… cheese it, it’s the Feds!

Just a short note today to point you in the direction of this gem.

In my interview with Norman J Warren back in 2011, he talked about what was at the time a bit of a “lost film” he made in the 80s, called Gunpowder, which sounded amazing.

Anyhoo, on finding and re-reading the interview, which you can see in its entirety in my previous post on this blog, my own interest in Gunpowder was piqued again.

Things have moved on a lot since 2011 and we now have a thing called “You Tube”. You may be interested to know that people often put old films on “You Tube” these days. I’m pretty sure that Gunpowder isn’t due a Blu-Ray release anytime soon, so I thought I’d have a look and see if “You Tube” had it, and blummin’ heck if it only does.

Tonight I watched Gunpowder (or to give it it’s even better title here, “Kommando Gold Raid”) in its entirety, and let me tell you, it didn’t disappoint. At points it is like watching Garth Marengthi’s Darkplace but for real. Sadly, it’s not horror, more of a James Bond spoof, so it won’t be appearing on the official site. But if you, like me, love underfunded and poorly conceived old movies… Or if you, like me, love Gordon Jackson and would be really interested to see how he performs when given a terrible script (badly, as it turns out)… Or if you, like me, grew up in rural Cheshire in the 80s and want a reminder of how much it didn’t look like rural France… you’re in for an absolute treat. Link to the entire film below.

And seriously, how on earth did they think the cheese seduction scene was supposed to play out?
