New review: Dark Places

Latest in a long line of “where have you been all my life?” Brit horrors is this little gem, which I finally saw this year for the first time. Whether you like it or not will depend entirely on how you grade these films. If you’re in it for the sumptuous gothic atmos of yer Hammers, or the social commentary and gore of Pete Walker, then you’ll probably hate it. But if, like me, you like your old horror films stupid and inconsistent, and flavoured with a liberal serving of poor actoring, then I’m pretty sure you’ll love it.

So dive in and savour the likes of Christopher Lee, Joan Collins, Herbert Lom and Jean Marsh all having an off day on the same day, whilst a shouty Robert Hardy ACTS his socks OFF.
